ARCHS' Reentry Mentoring Partnership

ARCHS is partnering with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections to implement an innovative mentoring program at two Missouri prisons (Pacific and Vandalia, MO). We will serve both men and women who will receive mentoring at pre and post release from Missouri's prisons.

    If your initiative/program serves people under community corrections supervision, how does your organization work in partnership or work in collaboration with participants’ probation or parole officers?
    For the past 10 years ARCHS has partnered with the Missouri Department of Corrections (probation and parole) . Upon release probation officer is notified of offenders participation and provided monthly updates of participants status. Coordination between case manager and assigned probation officer is ongoing.

    Data that provides insight into each participant's barriers to reentry. i.e. housing needs, education attainment, employment history,criminal history, health and psychological needs. The data is used to develop indivual life plans for each participant.

    What, if any, activities does your initiative/program include for people while they are incarcerated and how do these activities differ from those offered to the general population?
    Mentoring for offenders referred by the Warden's transition teams(not offered to the general population) Pre-release case management to begin reunification with familiy members and other positive supports (not offered to the general population) Free transportation to familiy members to visit with offenders (not offered to the general population)
